A relatively fast growing native oak, Northern Pin is long-lived and drought tolerant. It has spectacular red fall color and prefers loose, slightly acidic soils. Attractive to birds and butterflies. It has a deep tap root so it should not be moved once it is planted. Persistent leaves mean no fall raking.
